Paige Spiranac has joined forces with long-time friend and fellow golf content creator Tisha Alyn for a new episode of her popular YouTube series, “Hot Birds”. The 40-minute video, titled “Golf bestie and I get way too honest ft. Tisha Alyn”, sees the pair reunite on the greens of Monarch Beach Golf Links in California for a friendly game and candid conversation.
Shared History in Golf and Beyond
The golfing influencers share a deep history, having known each other for over a decade. According to Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, Spiranac stated in the introduction to the video, “We played junior golf together, college golf together, a little bit of pro golf together and we started doing the social media thing around the same time.” This shared journey included competing in the same junior events and navigating the same qualifying school, as detailed by Where Is The Buzz. Both women entered the professional golf circuit, competing on the Cactus Tour and in state opens, but ultimately decided to exit on the same day. Spiranac recalled the intense pressure of qualifying school, describing it as “literal hell” due to the extreme heat and demands. Reflecting on the challenges faced by professional golfers, a recent article also covered how some players, like Scottie Scheffler, navigate difficult tournaments.
The “Hot Birds” Episode: Paige Spiranac and Tisha Alyn’s Golf Video and Ocean Dare
The recent episode of “Hot Birds” captures the duo’s dynamic as they play a scramble format from the forward tees, achieving an initial 8 under par. Beyond the game itself, the video offers an “OG Golf Girl Fit Check,” showcasing their on-course style. Spiranac sported a white Alo tennis skirt, a blue patterned halter top from Urban Outfitters, Warby Parker sunglasses, G/FORE sneakers, and a silver necklace from London Jewelers, embracing her signature look. Alyn, meanwhile, featured unreleased items from her own line, including silver-studded G/FORE sneakers, a matching glove, trendy tube socks, and a navy-and-pink polo-style shirt dress, according to Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.
A highlight of the Paige Spiranac Tisha Alyn golf video was a friendly competition involving a daring wager. After birdying the first three holes, Spiranac challenged Alyn that if she made a difficult birdie putt on the third hole, they would “jump into the ocean.” To their surprise, Spiranac sank the shot. True to their word, the pair ran towards the nearby beach to complete the dare, but were thwarted by a “huge hill and bushes” which made the area inaccessible, leading to a good-natured giggle.
Transition to Social Media and Other Ventures
Their paths after professional golf diverged before converging again in social media. Spiranac noted that when they first started, social media influence was “kind of a joke within the golf industry,” especially for women, and not a guaranteed career path. Tisha Alyn, who learned golf at three years old and was a top junior golfer, also explored other avenues. On her mother’s advice, she competed in pageants, specifically Miss Philippines USA, winning the people’s choice award and describing it as “one of the hardest things I ever did,” as reported by Where Is The Buzz. Alyn was also an early member of Women with Drive, one of the first female golf content collectives. Despite Alyn admitting her short game has deteriorated due to less frequent play, she boasts seven holes-in-one compared to Spiranac’s four, with her favourite being a 68-yard shot made during a 100-hole hike for Youth on Course.
The video has been met with positive feedback from fans, who praised the duo’s “laid back vibes and fun, friendly energy,” with one commenter calling it “the most fun video I’ve watched about golf ever.”
