Dozens injured after magnitude 7.5 quake strikes northern Japan

A powerful 7.5-magnitude earthquake shook northern Japan late Monday, injuring at least two dozen people and triggering tsunami warnings for the Pacific-coast prefectures. Though tsunami waves reached only around 70 cm, the event triggered mass evacuations and renewed concerns over aftershocks.
